10th annual Destiny Dinner
Saturday, Aug. 27, 2016
Grand Plaza at Point Ruston
“History and Promise –
Celebrating the Revitalization
of Commencement Bay”
Please join us as we celebrate the revitalization of Commencement Bay, on the tenth anniversary of the successful cleanup of the Thea Foss Waterway. Today our urban waterfront supports a thriving ecosystem while still providing for economic development and public enjoyment.
Our partners include the Port of Tacoma, the City of Tacoma’s Department of Environmental Services, Gordon Thomas Honeywell, Carino and Associates, Citizens for a Healthy Bay, and – of course – Point Ruston. This will be the debut formal event on the Point Ruston Grand Plaza, an idyllic setting facing the waterfront and surrounded by new shops and restaurants.
Just as a healthy bay is critical for Tacoma, the annual Destiny Dinner is a critical fundraising event for Tacoma Historical Society. Please join with our sponsors in celebrating this major transformation of Tacoma’s waterfront and show your appreciation for the history of Tacoma and its future. Karen Larkin & Holland Cohen Destiny Dinner Co-Chairs.
You are invited to the Tacoma Historical Society Tenth Annual Destiny Dinner History and Promise Celebrating the Revitalization of Commencement Bay.
Join us for a night of fun and entertainment including guest speakers former U.S. Representative Norm Dicks and Jay Manning, former Director of the Department of Ecology. Tacoma Historical Society will present its prestigious “Star of Destiny Award,” followed by dancing on the Point Ruston Grand Plaza, 5105 Ruston Way.
