LNG: Get the Scoop – Hosted by City Club
January 18, 2017 @ 11:30 am - 1:15 pm
City Club of Tacoma is a non-partisan civic organization founded in 1984. Its mission is to provide a forum that brings people together to explore issues and ideas affecting the South Sound community.
Puget Sound Energy plans to build a liquefied natural gas (LNG) facility at the Port of Tacoma.
The proposed facility will provide local transportation companies with a cleaner fuel alternative, including TOTE Maritime Alaska vessels. It will also provide PSE residential and commercial customers with natural gas reserves to maintain dependable service on the coldest days of the year.
There is some question by community members whether this type of facility is wise so close to the city.
Please join us as you hear both sides of this issue and can make an educated conclusion for yourself.
