TWA General Meeting
March 14 @ 11:30 am - 1:00 pmFree
Join us to learn more about waterfront-related events and activities and network with others involved in Tacoma’s waterfront community. Our guest speaker is Jim Rideout with the Puyallup Tribal Council.
In late July this year the Puyallup Tribe of Indians will host the 2018 Canoe Journey with an expected 15,000 participants representing coastal tribes from all over the Pacific Northwest. The former Ole & Charlie’s Marina at the mouth of the Hylebos is the site of the landing. Jim is heading up an initiative to rebuild this location as a tribal cultural center. His presentation will cover this project and the Canoe Journey. The 2017 Canoe Journey landing was in Campbell River, BC.
About TWA Monthly Meetings
TWA’s monthly meetings are great opportunities to network and learn with others involved in Tacoma’s waterfront community. Each month, featured guest speakers present a variety of subjects of interest to our community. Recent topics include boating, environmental issues, youth on the water, and activating the public esplanade. Elected officials also have attended recent meetings to give updates on waterfront-related issues and answer members’ questions.
Guests are always welcome! Meetings are free for TWA members and guests.
